Lee Co. School System to host networking event

News release from Lee County Board of Education

Want to learn more about the Lee County School System?  The school system is hosting its annual networking event for the community.  Come join us as we visit the Lee County Schools.

The tour will include an orientation session at the Central Office (126 Starksville Avenue, North), bus tour of our schools, and lunch in a school.

We look forward to seeing you on October 23, starting at 8:15 a.m.- concluding at approximately 1:00 p.m.

Eight graduate from SGTC's Law Enforcement Academy

CRISP and SUMTER COUNTIES, GA - Eight students from South Georgia Technical College’s Law Enforcement Academy were recognized at the SGTC graduation ceremony.

The students were recognized for their Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Certification.

Lee County Sheriff’s Office Colonel Chris Owens who has 25 years of law enforcement up under his belt was the guest speaker for the ceremony.

Darton State announces $119M economic impact on Southwest GA

Darton State College announced Thursday that it had a $119.4 million dollar economic impact on 10 counties in Southwest Georgia.

“We are grateful that during these difficult economic times, Darton State College can continue to have a positive financial impact on our community,” said Tracy Goode, Dean of Institutional Advancement and Public Relations.

Those 10 counties are Dougherty, Lee, Worth, Mitchell, Terrell, Colquitt, Baker, Sumter, Calhoun, and Tift Counties.
