The man so nice they named him twice performs on American Idol

LEESBURG,GA- The final three on American Idol will battle tonight for a spot in the finale' next week. Hometown Hero is the theme for tonight's show and if you attended Phillip Phillips recent concert in Leesburg, you might see yourself on national tv.

The remaining three contestants will perform three songs each tonight. The person with the lowest votes on tomorrow night will be kicked off the show.

LEESBURG, GA – Public notice from Lee County Board of Commissioners

The offices of the Lee County Board of Commissioners will be closed Monday, May 28, 2012, in observance of Memorial Day.

County offices will reopen Tuesday, May 29, 2012.

 

16 year-old Leesburg teen stabbed multiple times

A 19 year-old Lee County man is in jail charged with stabbing another teen five times.

Lee County Sheriff's deputies say a bunch of teens were fighting in the street on the 100 block of Winding Way about 9:30 p.m. on Friday.

When deputies showed up they were told a 16 year-old was stabbed and family members had taken him to the hospital.

LEESBURG,GA- Officials say traffic and parking was as smooth as it could have been considering the thousands of people who poured into the small town of Leesburg.

Phillip Phillips a hit at homecoming concert

LEESBURG,GA- The Phillip Phillips homecoming still has all of South Georgia talking.

The superstar from Leesburg got to sing to his hometown fans Saturday afternoon. Thousands of them went out to Lee County High school to cheer on their favorite American Idol contestant.

The 21-year old superstar returned home to a group of fans that waited hours just to see his face and hear his voice.

Phillips family supports the Idol star

LEESBURG,GA- While thousands of fans showed up today to watch Phillip Phillips perform, no one is more proud of him than his family.

They all got together this morning and went to Lee County High School to support the American Idol finalist.

Fans were going crazy at just the sight of Phillip Phillips. They screamed and cheered as he walked out of Cumulus broadcasting. But nobody was more excited to see him, than his own family.

"I'm excited to see Phillip Phillips because I love him because he is my cousin," says Kendell Ethridge\Phillip's Cousin.
